Vampire Weekend Settles With Contra Model

Ann Kirsten Kennis.

Ann Kirsten Kennis, the woman who sued Vampire Weekend and their label XL Records for using her image without permission on the cover of the band’s album Contra, has won an undisclosed settlement in the case, reports Photo District News. Kennis claims that photographer Richard Brody forged her model release and licensed the Polaroid to the band for $5,000; meanwhile, Vampire Weekend and XL are suing Brody for misrepresenting his rights to the photo. Good luck with that one, though: Brody’s attorneys have abandoned him for not paying his bills, and he’s now repping himself in court. [Photo District News]
