Barry Levinson will bring his 1982 dude drama to Broadway next fall, with original music and lyrics by none other than Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and noted cookbook author Sheryl Crow. (The book’s title? If It Makes You Healthy. We didn’t make that up.) Levinson suggests that the stage adaptation might expand on the original, noting that there is more to the characters’ story, and that they’ll be better able to “express their innermost feeling and thoughts through song.” Feelings aside, Vulture is just excited about the possibility of an entire musical based on Sheryl Crow cookbook puns. Put “My Favorite Mix Cake” at the end of the first act and we guarantee tears. [Deadline]
