Fox Picks Up New Girl for a Full Season

NEW GIRL: The new comedy starring Zooey Deschanel ("(500) Days of Summer") as an adorkable girl who moves in with three single guys, changing their lives in unexpected ways premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Adorkable! Fox has renewed new hit comedy New Girl for a full season, ordering eleven additional episodes of the Zooey Deschanel charm-com to supplement its original thirteen-episode commitment to the series. The move is unsurprising: The show has built on its Glee lead-in two consecutive weeks and is the best performing live-action comedy Fox has launched in about a decade (since The Bernie Mac Show). And last night, Girl was the No. 1 show on all of TV among adults under 50. (See what happens when New York Magazine puts you on its cover?) Assuming ratings hold up tonight, look for NBC to order more Up All Night ASAP (and possibly shift or ditch The Playboy Club).
