Noah Baumbach Might Adapt The Corrections for HBO

Here’s an interesting but totally unconfirmed rumor: Baz Bamigoye reports that Baumbach, who’s already set to direct a movie version of the popular 2006 novel Emperor’s Children, will also take on an adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s wildly popular 2001 novel for HBO. The project is still in “very early days,” but it’s a promising idea, if only to watch Baumbach wrestle with an intact — albeit extremely unhappy — grown-up family, rather than his traditional broken home bread and butter. We’re intrigued, just as long as Ben Stiller doesn’t play the Marxist academic turned screenwriter brother; how many more angry Starbucks letters can the guy write? [Daily Mail UK]
