Odd Future Records Signs Its First Artist [Updated]

By

Odd Future's eponymous label was created as part of a record deal meant to give the OFWGKTA kids total control over their music — meaning they never really planned to find artists of their own. Odd Future says as much in the statement announcing their first signee: "While our original intent was not to sign anyone to the label, we simply could not pass up the opportunity to sign somebody this talented. Young Ni**a embodies the DIY ethic and persona of ODD Future, along with a commercial appeal that transcends demographics." Young Ni**a's first single will debut on the Odd Future website this afternoon. In the meantime, a question: If Odd Future already has a TV show, a book, and a real record label, does that mean a perfume is next? And, if so, what the hell will that smell like? UPDATE: His first single is here, and hmm, it sounds suspiciously like someone whose name rhymes with Mylar. Jokes! [Pitchfork]
