Rob Schneider’s reworked pilot has officially been given a series order at CBS. The show, loosely based on Schneider’s actual life, centers on a fun-loving bachelor who suddenly marries into a close-knit Mexican-American family. Claudia Bassols, best known to American audiences as the super-beautiful Spanish sidekick on Spain: On the Road Again with Gwyneth Paltrow and Mario Batali, will play Schneider’s wife, and Cheech Marin will play Schneider’s father-in-law.
