A few weeks ago, while rattling off a few of the tasks on her Superstar Bucket List — directing, “balance,” etc. — Beyoncé mentioned that she might want to create a boy band. And when it is spoken aloud by Queen Bey, it must be so. To wit: The video for “Love on Top,” Beyoncé’s baby announcement song, in which she fronts a five-guy (or six, counting Bey) vaguely Temptations-y music group. The video will do nothing to silence Beyoncé plagiarism or baby bump conspiracy theorists; the first half borrows from an old New Edition video, and the entire thing was clearly filmed before her bump began to show. (Or began to fold.) Still, Vulture salutes any artistic undertaking that requires a new costume with every key change. Okay, enjoy!
