Lev Grossman’s The Magicians Headed to TV

Fox has bought a one-hour drama adaptation of The Magicians, better known as "Harry Potter but with sex and major substance abuse." (Also: parallel universes, demon tattoos, and an awesome trip to Antarctica. It's a fun book; read it!) The series, to be written by X-Men: First Class and Thor co-writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, will follow a group of "20-somethings in New York who study magic and have access to a magical world." If this sounds a little too fantasy-goth to you, please allow us to reiterate how much fancy booze they drank in the book. They're magicians; they can just summon it out of thin air. Trust. [Deadline]
