New York Film Society Head Is Stepping Down

Richard Pena.

Richard Pena, the programming director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center and chairman of the New York Film Festival’s selection committee, announced that he will resign from both positions at the end of 2012. “One of my dream jobs is to run a small museum,” he told the Times. “I’m open to and giddy at new possibilities.” So far, no successor has been named. Pena’s 25-year NYFF tenure followed that of Richard Roud, who also ran the festival for 25 years. [ArtsBeat/NYT]
