Nora Ephron to Direct Jane Austen-Related Movie

Nora Ephron has signed on to write and direct Lost in Austen, about a contemporary woman and Jane Austen fan who winds up smack in the middle of Pride and Prejudice, inadvertently cockblocking Elizabeth Bennet. So, pretty much, the perfect Nora Ephron project. The film is based on the satisfactory, but not revelatory, 2008 British mini-series of the same name. The plot is such a logical outgrowth of the Pride and Prejudice reading experience (essentially "I want to go to there") that it's astounding, given all the endless Jane Austen spinoffs, it hasn't been a movie already. Should be in good hands with Ephron, who will now have the pleasure of casting a new Mr. Darcy. (Apologies, but Colin Firth is definitively, irrevocably, certainly too old to play this part.)
