Bing Really Wanted an Atrocious Product Placement on The Walking Dead


The Walking Dead is an advertiser's dream, on account of its young, passionate audience, but according to the New York Times, it's also an advertiser's peyote fever dream if that advertiser is Bing. "We pitched [The Walking Dead] last year where maybe the characters could find a library with a generator and do a Bing search," Bing's marketing director Sean Carver told the Times. He "acknowledged the scene was a stretch," which it really, really is. Unsurprisingly, AMC declined, so Bing just made a bunch of zombie-themed commercials instead. [NYT]
