Oh happy day! Werner Herzog will take time off making outstanding documentaries and pondering the mysteries of the universe in his distinctive Teutonic manner to play the villain in Tom Cruise's One Shot. Yes, we just wrote that! Werner Herzog will be playing the bad guy in the new Tom Cruise movie! The film is based on the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child, and stars Cruise as a very short version of Reacher investigating multiple murders by a sniper. Herzog will appear as the main bad guy called — because this can not get better! — The Zec, "an ex-prisoner of war who arranges and stages the killing and is the head of the conspiracy." This will be Herzog's biggest acting role to date, and if he is a quarter as fearsome as he was in Burden of Dreams every other villain of next year better watch the hell out. [Variety]
