It’s been a while since she strolled down a red carpet with a vial of Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around her neck, but let’s not forget that Angelina Jolie is a Goth at heart. The actress’s semi-forgotten dark side was on full display during a Sunday-night appearance on 60 Minutes, when she told CBS’s Bob Simon that she once devoted some serious thought to becoming a funeral director: “It sounds like this very strange, eccentric, dark thing to do but in fact I lost my grandfather and was very upset with his funeral. How somebody passes and how family deals with this passing and what death is should be addressed in a different way. If this whole acting thing didn’t work out that was going to be my path.” The alternate-career theme continued with a discussion of the upcoming release of her Bosnian war drama, In the Land of Blood and Honey. “I prefer directing [to acting],” she said. However, she added, “I think I’d be terrible with a comedy.”
