DMX Gives Back With Random Acts of Public Cleanliness

It has not been the easiest year or two for DMX: The rapper’s been in and out of jail on a number of criminal charges (cocaine, animal cruelty, and social-security fraud among them) and he was transferred to a mental health institution at the end of last year. But DMX is back, and he’s apparently taken it upon himself to repay the community in any way he can. Recently, this has meant cleaning. As in, DMX rolls up to a Spartanburg, South Carolina, nightclub and just starts … vacuuming. TMZ has the video from last night (it’s very dark, but it definitely features an individual with a vacuum), as well as a relevant quote from the man himself: “Broom, vacuum, mop, whatever … it’s a rewarding experience. What can I say? I like clean sh*t and the supplies were available.” Lest you think this is a one-off, DMX also showed up at a Waffle House over the weekend and pitched in with the mopping. His reasoning on that one: “I was in a good mood and felt that I would do that for him since it was 4 a.m. and [the employee] had been working all night. The minute you get too big to mop a floor or wipe a counter, that’s the exact minute you have life f**ked up.” Late-night janitorial stunts did sound like unstable behavior at first, but that last quote is actually fairly commendable.  DMX just likes clean sh*t, everyone. Fair.
