The Ender’s Game movie has found its Ender Wiggin: Asa Butterfield, the 14-year-old star of Hugo, has been offered the role, according to Deadline. Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game follows a child as he’s enlisted in “Battle School” and discovers his talents for combat and strategy, which are now important skills to have on account of humanity’s recurring wars against the antlike alien race known as the “Buggers.” Think Harry Potter, except super brutal, way bleaker, and with sci-fi instead of magic. A movie adaptation has been in the works for a while, but director Gavin Hood is actually moving forward this time; Summit is planning on releasing the movie in early 2013. That’s plenty of time to learn about the art of war (and master that Borat impression), Asa.
