Broadway’s Funny Girl Postponed

The producers of the Broadway revival of Funny Girl announced today that they're postponing the production due to “economic difficulties.” Sure, Funny Girl has many things going for it — Lauren Ambrose, Bobby Cannavale, the holy Streisand aura — but until the producers have the $12 million (!) needed to put up the show “on the scale it deserves,” Funny Girl is on hold. This should give Lea Michele some more time to implicitly audition for the show by performing Streisand jams over on Glee. [ArtsBeat/NYT]
