Tammy, one of the thousand or so scripts Melissa McCarthy has sold in the last few months, seems to be moving the fastest toward production, with the announcement of Tate Taylor (The Help) as director. McCarthy and Taylor met as Groundlings, which is also where McCarthy met her husband and Tammy co-writer, Ben Falcone (forever to be known and loved as the air marshal from Bridesmaids). Like a lot of McCarthy’s scripts, Tammy involves a woman down on her luck going on a road trip, but also, this script involves Hardee's. Perfect.
