So Far, the Watch the Throne Tour Does Not Include Flame Walls

Kanye and Jay-Z's arena tour, which kicked off Friday night in Atlanta, is by all accounts — as the set list and common sense predicted — a barn burner. Friday night's concert featured 40-ish songs, Kanye in a leather kilt, and 'Ye and Hov rapping at each other from atop giant cubes. Not featured, at least according to GQ's Will Welch, who was backstage for the festivities, were the mysterious "flame walls" alluded to in the margins of this paper. Still, there are a number of anecdotes to amuse, including the moment, during the Will Ferrell quote in "Ni--as in Paris," when Kanye started "yelling repeatedly and at the top of his lungs, 'NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IT MEANNNNNS!'" There's also a Fabolous-approved cocktail recipe. Anyway, it all sounds nuts, and Vulture remains hopeful that the Flame Walls be rolled out for MSG. [GQ]
