X-Men: First Class Sequel Finally Moving Forward

Michael Fassbender.

Could X-Men: First Class get a sophomore year? The franchise reboot debuted to great reviews but could-go-either-way box office this past summer, and Fox has waffled about whether to continue the period franchise or not. Perhaps the studio just needed some distance from the movie's famously rushed production, or maybe they noticed all those other filmmakers fighting over Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence and realized, "Hey! We already have those actors, and they're under contract!" In any case, Superhero Hype reports that Fox has finally inked Simon Kinberg to script a follow-up. The studio also has a Wolverine sequel ready to go when Hugh Jackman finishes with Les Miserables: Will they decide that double the X means double your pleasure? [Superhero Hype]
