A couple of weeks after reporting Christopher Meloni was likely heading to True Blood, TV Line has confirmed the casting. Executive producer Alan Ball says Meloni, who recently departed his starring role on Law & Order: SVU, will play “an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands” in Season 5.
Vulture recently established that Meloni is equally deft at doing the good-guy thing as the evil-killer shtick; now we’ve got till next summer to speculate on his level of vampiric badness.
