Jay-Z Doing Two Benefit Concerts at Carnegie Hall

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 17: Musician Jay-Z arrives at the 16th Annual GQ "Men Of The Year" Party at Chateau Marmont on November 17, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

Hov will play February 6 and 7 at the famed New York City venue — his first-ever shows there — to benefit his Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation and a United Way program "aimed at reducing the dropout rate among New York City teenagers." A majority of the tickets will be sold privately, but some will be available to the public, with prices ranging from $500 to $2,500. Not cheap, but for a good cause! (And maybe not that much more expensive than scalped Watch the Throne tickets.) This is where the traditional "how do you make it to Carnegie Hall?" joke goes, but since it is Jay-Z we are talking about, we will refrain out of respect for his coolness. Tickets go on sale January 30.
