Christian Bale passed on playing Noah in Darren Aronofsky’s ark movie, which means the role is now wide open for some other handsome, intense lead actor who can tap into a borderline-craziness while still being engaging. Paging Michael Fassbender! Michael Fassbender to the casting department, please. According to Variety, Fassbender has been discussing the role with Aronofsky, though nothing is official yet. The Shame star would be a terrific prophet, but it would make the rest of the casting more difficult: If Michael Fassbender plays Noah, who plays God?
