Michel Gondry Remade Taxi Driver (Adorably)

Last year, rumors floated around that Lars Von Trier might spearhead a meta-remake of Martin Scorsese's classic Taxi Driver, but it looks like another European auteur has beaten him to the punch. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michel Gondry made an inventive, low-fi version of Taxi Driver (in the "sweded" style he portrayed in his film Be Kind Rewind) to play at the French premiere of Scorsese's new Hugo, and now that two-minute video has made its way online, courtesy of French2 and JoBlo. Who plays Travis Bickle? None other than Gondry himself. "Are you talkin' to me?" is so much cuter with French subtitles!
