After being lectured by right-wing TV personalities and Twitter-grounded by Jimmy Fallon, the Roots front man only kind of apologized for playing “Lyin Ass Bitch” as Michele Bachmann walked out on Late Night. (“I feel bad if her feelings were hurt.”) Today, he is feeling more repentant. In an interview with Pitchfork, Questlove explains that he didn’t consider all the repercussions, especially with respect to the word bitch: “I really didn’t think about how it could be perceived as a misogynist swipe — it didn’t hit me until my [Twitter] timeline started showing up that it was seen that way … It deeply offended a lot of women’s groups and non-Bachmann supporters, and for that I’m deeply sorry.” He also mentions that the Bachmann camp called off the hunt late last Wednesday, meaning: Questlove is not getting fired! Congrats, Questlove.
