CBS picked up three new dramatic series on Thursday, insiders confirm to Vulture. Goodfellas writer Nicholas Pileggi and Without a Trace's Greg Walker will executive produce and write an untitled project about Ralph Lamb, a real life 1960s rodeo cowboy turned Las Vegas sheriff. Walk the Line helmer James Mangold will direct. Also on deck is the Christopher Columbus-directed Applebaum, an adaptation of Ayelet Waldman’s Mommy Track Mysteries novels, featuring a stay-at-home mom turned private eye. Lastly, and most Girl With the Dragon Tattoo-y, is Quean, about an alt-cool hacker chick (ahem) who teams up with an Oakland police detective to solve crimes. The L Word co-creator Ilene Chaiken will write and exec produce.
