Paul Brittain Is Out at SNL
Paul Brittain is leaving Saturday Night Live "effective immediately," according to EW, though the parting is described as amicable. Brittain joined the cast in September 2010 — at the same time as Taran Killam, Vanessa Bayer, and Jay Pharoah — and is probably best known for his haunting Ron Paul impression, his whimsical old-timey Lord Wyndemere, and Sex Ed Vincent, a character beloved among Chicago comedy fans before he ever appeared on SNL. Brittain always seemed charismatic enough on the show (his Draco Malfoy on the most recent episode was particularly dead-on), but none of his bits really broke out, which is too bad; SNL is now minus the guy who koala-style wrapped himself around Charles Barkley for our amusement.
