Chloë Sevigny will play a stay-at-home mom on an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU, which is among the best silly castings in recent memory. According to TV Guide, Sevigny’s character “is attacked and kidnapped while video-chatting with her husband, who’s halfway around the world,” which means this installment likely falls into the Technology Is Incredibly Dangerous subgenre of Special Victims Unit episodes. (See also: Texting, MySpace, “chats,” webcams, and the rest of the entire Internet.) This is Sevigny’s first foray into the Dick Wolfe–o-sphere, which is actually a little bit surprising. Isn’t everyone from the East Coast legally required to have at least one episode of some iteration of L&O on his or her acting résumé?
