Damian Lewis, Natascha McElhone, and Stellan Skarsgard have all joined the cast of the Haille Steinfeld–led Romeo and Juliet , the Hollywood Reporter writes. Lewis and McElhone, who both play parents of rebellious teenage daughters on Showtime shows, will be playing Lord and Lady Capulet, and Skarsgard will be playing the Prince Escalus. Screenwriter Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey) says this adaptation isn't meant to feel like a fresh spin on Romeo and Juliet, but rather a faithful retelling. "People have made Romeo since [1968] — and some very good ones — but they were set in modern Ohio or whatever," Fellowes says. "This isn't that." Ha, "modern Ohio or whatever."
