Trade Roundup: Tina Fey, Mandy Moore, Nick Offerman, Friends Reunion

Tina Fey may be producing Fancy Nancy, based on a series of children’s books about a girl named Nancy with a taste for all things you-know-what. It doesn’t look like Fey will have an acting role in the film, which is probably good since it saves us all from spending money on a movie made solely for young children who enjoy the finer things in life.

ABC’s picked up a pilot starring Mandy Moore as a newlywed who gets a chance to run a cool restaurant in her hometown, bringing her closer to her “needy and high maintenance family.” Some may say they have not been anticipating Moore’s return to comedy television since her appearances on How I Met Your Mother and Scrubs. I, however, have been “missing [Mandy Moore’s sitcom career] like candayyy, yeah, missing [her sitcom career] like candy.”

Talk about planning ahead. Parks & Rec’s Nick Offerman has already recorded a guest spot for a Christmas episode of The Cleveland Show. He’ll play a “sexist, philandering department-store owner who requires the female elves (including Roberta) to don hot pants to attract customers” and Offerman says the character is “very handsome and gassy.” Sounds about right.

I woke up in a cold sweat last night from a dream that I owned an impossibly huge and beautiful apartment in Greenwich Village despite hanging out in a coffeeshop all day instead of working. It could only mean one thing: a Friends reunion was on the horizon. David Schwimmer will guest star on four episodes of Lisa Kudrow’s web series Web Therapy this summer.
