Disney recently learned what a difference a title makes. Vulture's Claude Brodesser-Akner wrote at the end of February that People had been on the shelf for a while with no concrete release date in sight, but the studio just set an opening of June 29. About a month ago director Roberto Orci (Transformers, Star Trek) wrote on his Twitter account, "Will all of u who think all we know how to do is rip off old concepts wth explosions give us a chance and see WELCOME TO PEOPLE this summer?" And an hour ago, he retweeted news of the name change. In other words, Bob Orci swears he can do more than just explosions.
