After a three-day advocacy tour through D.C., George Clooney (along with his father Nick) was arrested this morning in a protest outside the Sudanese embassy. Clooney, his dad, and a group of protesters that included Representative Jim Moran (VA) were handcuffed after crossing a police line three times; the demonstration was part of Clooney’s larger effort to draw attention to the brutal regime of President Omar al-Bashir and “humanitarian crisis” in Sudan. Clooney was led away peacefully (and maybe, depending on your interpretation of this photo, with a smile).
