Jersey Shore will indeed be back for a sixth season, MTV announced today, in defiance of the laws of God and nature. This is in addition to the upcoming Pauly D show, JWOWW and Snooki spinoff, and the generalized sensation of cultural entropy. The ratings for this season’s Shore finale were down 25 percent from last season, though the numbers are still pretty strong — and apparently strong enough to warrant another go-round on the drinking-and-shrieking carousel. The season will go into production this summer, so there will be plenty of sunshiney fecund Snooki to enjoy.
