Kim Novak is not going to back down from her notorious complaint that when The Artist sampled the score from Vertigo, it was akin to a rape. "When I said it was like a rape, that was how it felt to me," Novak told the AP this week. "I had experienced in my youth being raped, and so I identified with a real act that had been done to me. I didn't use that word lightly. I had been raped as a child." Also, this: "I never reported my real rape, so I felt the need to report this one." Despite those ante-upping comments, Novak confessed that aside from the music, she actually liked The Artist a lot and thought it deserved its Oscar wins aside from Best Score. Sure! (Yikes!)
