What if Danny Boyle directed a James Bond film? The auteur behind Trainspotting and 127 Hours may be too much for the staid gatekeepers of the franchise, but at least they’ve entrusted the character to Boyle for a short film meant to kick off the Olympics. The Sun reports that Boyle helmed a short film this past week, shot at Buckingham Palace, where Daniel Craig as Bond received orders from the Queen herself, then exits via helicopter before parachuting into the Olympic Stadium. Good show, Mr. Bond … now pardon us, we need to test that martini for evidence of juicing.
