Has Adele’s reign of breakup terror finally come to a close? Though she is still selling more music than just about anyone, Adele has spent the last five weeks at No. 2 or 3. on Billboard — meaning, not at No. 1, where she spent the first two months of 2012 and a good chunk of 2011. Lionel Richie is this week’s victor, topping out with 129,000 albums sold in a relatively quiet week on the charts. Adele was at No. 2, while Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded slipped to No. 3 (81,000 sold). And after last week’s historic drop-off, Madonna’s MDNA is nowhere to be found in the top ten. So maybe molly is not as hip a music reference as everyone seems to think?
