The Avengers earned over $100 million for a second weekend in a row — a first in box office history. This and Avengers’ $1 billion haul worldwide put it in a strong position to unseat Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as the third highest-grossing film of all time. In comparison, Dark Shadows’ $29 million opener is sort of an ‘eh’ moment. Maybe the Tim Burton-Johnny Depp-Helena Bonham Carter routine has finally gotten old. [Deadline]
