So much for Scarlett Johansson’s plans to reteam the Avengers! The actress was once planning to star opposite Mark Ruffalo in a new John Carney film; she then pulled out to topline a Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, with Jeremy Renner in the mix to co-star. Now, though, the Times is reporting that Chris Pine has surged past Renner as the leading contender to play Brick. Even from Asgard, Loki maintains an impressive, dissension-sowing grip on our nation’s casting directors.
