FX has landed on something that feels a little Showtime-y or perhaps AMC-trying-something-a-little-wackier-ish, developing a dramatic adaptation of Chelsea Cain’s bestselling series Heartsick. Per the author’s site, the plot features a “pink-haired girl journalist” and a serial murderer named the Beauty Killer, a former therapist turned slasher. In hot pursuit is pill-addled Portland detective Archie Sheridan, whom the Beauty Killer previously captured and tortured . Keep this semi-kooky and entirely away from The Killing territory and we’re maybe good.
