The Dream of 90s Is Alive in ‘Mr. Box Office’

Before you get too excited, no, Mr. Box Office is not a Mr. Show prequel, it’s anything but.  Mr. Box Office (or Mr. B.O. as mocking people will call it) is a first-run syndicated sitcom, starring Bill Bellamy, Jon Lovitz, Vivica A. Fox, Gary Busey, Keshia Knight Pullman (Rudy from The Cosby Show), Tim Meadows, and Rick Fox. Imagine how amazingly huge this show would have been in the 90s with a post-Independence Day Vivica A. Fox, a post-The Critic Jon Lovitz, a in his playing prime Rick Fox, a equally as crazy but less publically so Gary Busey, a pre-trying to have a movie career Bill Bellamy. Instead it’s joining the illustrious first-run syndicated ranks with comedies like…um…Judge Joe Brown? There actually aren’t any other first-run syndicated sitcoms – there barely any fictional series period. Ok, now guess how many episodes it was order for… 104!!!!!! That is more episodes than Parks & Recreation probably will ever get. Still, the cast is interesting and/or good so there are worse things to have to watch at 5:00pm on a Saturday.
