The Today Show Hosts Were Bit by the ‘Call Me Maybe’ Bug This Morning

It seems the Today show staff has fully endorsed “Call Me Maybe” as their choice for 2012’s Song of Summer, devoting three segments to the song this morning. Three! (Even though Carly Rae Jepsen herself was nowhere to be found.) The morning started with an in-vehicle dance-off between the Harvard baseball team and the SMU rowing team, both of which have posted videos of themselves dancing to the songs in vans on road trips. Then hosts Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Savannah Guthrie, and Tamron Hall showed off their version of the dance, which was lackluster until Matt Lauer popped up from behind the couch, Whac-A-Mole-style. Maybe the best, though, was the opening to Kathie Lee and Hoda’s hour, when the hosts lie on their backs and dance with their legs criss-crossing in the air. Check out more highlights right here.
