A Magic Mike Musical Is in the Works

With only four days to go before the Most Important Male Stripping Movie of Our Time, are you perhaps feeling slightly anxious, as if you almost don’t want to see Magic Mike, because then you will no longer have Magic Mike to look forward to? Well, problem solved: Magic Mike screenwriter and producer Reid Carolin says that he’s working on a musical version of the movie, so that Channing Tatum’s stripper story can live on forever. “I’m almost more excited about that than the movie because I think it’s the perfect thing for women to go see on Broadway, to be participants in the show,” he told USA Today. (Participants!) For the record, Alex Pettyfer is onboard: “I think we should all do the opening night.” Do we need to start one of those mail campaigns to make sure this happens? Quick, everyone send G-strings to the half-price TKTS booth; Broadway needs this.
