Beasts of the Southern Wild continues to prove itself to be an independent film success story this summer, and as Beasts continues to expand (it’s currently in just under 300 theaters with over $7 million in the box-office till), more audiences are wondering how exactly a film this ambitious was pulled off by a group of first-timers both in front of and behind the camera.
