Julian Fellowes Is Considering a Downton Prequel

It’s bad enough that Downton Abbey doesn’t start airing in the United States until January, but now Julian Fellowes is just taunting us. “I do have an idea of doing a prequel of the courtship between Robert and Cora,” he said at a BAFTA event. (That’s the dad and the mom, for those of you who are tragically underinvested in the show.) “Cora was in love with him before they married but as we know he only fell in love with her about a year after they married,” Fellowes said. “He married her purely for the money. I think that is something he came to feel quite guilty about.” Hm, tell us more, Julian Fellowes. Preferably in the form of an opulent soap opera disguised as a classy British miniseries.
