Why, President Obama’s reelection campaign (she was in D.C.; at least give credit for topicality). The full video is below, and includes a call-and-response section about Abraham Lincoln, but the key moment comes around the two-minute mark, when Madonna drops this wisdom: “Y’all better vote for fucking Obama, okay? For better or for worse, we have a black Muslim in the White House.” Now, Madonna has never met a controversy she doesn’t like, and the body language on these comments — body leaning forward, face scrunched up like a small, bratty child — suggests that she might just be mocking the people who actually do believe Barack Obama is Muslim.
