Two years ago, Tina Fey and Meryl Streep signed on to play mother-and-daughter in a new comedy for director Stanley Tucci called Mommy & Me, but Fey revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that the movie is no longer happening. Fey told the press, “The headline I saw was ‘Tina Fey to Receive Acting Lessons on Camera from Meryl Streep.’ That’s about right.” Meryl Streep giving Tina Fey acting lessons would make for an entertaining movie in its own right, but it’s a shame that Mommy & Me isn’t happening, and our hearts go out to Tina Fey on the loss of her new movie mother/acting teacher.
