Jason Segel and writer Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) sold a pitch to Fox today for a new comedy movie based on the documentary The Other F Word, Deadline reports. The doc (trailer after the jump) follows a bunch of aging punk rock musicians as they transition into fatherhood while still trying to stay true to who they are (I’m assuming “the other f-word” in the title is “fatherhood” but I’ve been wrong before). Segel and Pearce’s film will star Segel as one of these punk rock dads. Segel is an experienced musician himself, having composed music for his movies Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, and The Muppets. And of course, who could forget his turn as aspiring teenage rock drummer Nick Andopolis in Freaks and Geeks, or “Lady L,” the love song he wrote and played on the show? Hopefully, Jason Segel’s character in this movie will have a 29-piece drum kit.
