Two months ago, we reported that Eddie Murphy was working with The Shield creator Shawn Ryan to create a small screen version of Beverly Hills Cop that would center on Axel Foley's son, Aaron. Brandon T. Jackson — best known for his role in Tropic Thunder — has been cast in the lead role as a Beverly Hills cop who works to "take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous, while simultaneously trying to escape the shadow of his larger than life father." The producers have been describing it as "a buddy cop show," meaning Aaron still needs a partner. Will he be the son of either Judge Reinhold or Bronson Pinchot's character from the movies? Probably. Is Jason Segel or San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili available? Probably not.
