It’s one thing for David Blaine to eat glass for a bunch of bros at a bar, but to do so at a black-tie gala, in front of Meryl Streep? Have you no etiquette, Mr. Blaine? Nope! The sometimes ice-bound illusionist was at an event hosted by the Dana and Christopher Reeve Foundation last night when he walked up to the Best Actress on Earth, grabbed a wine glass from her table (where she was seated with Harvey Weinstein), and started snacking on shards. Streep stood and watched, amused, for about 30 seconds. Then went like this:
Vulture grabbed Blaine after the fact to see if he was, you know, bleeding from the mouth (nope!), and to ask if this is a party trick he turns to often. Picking glass off his tongue, he told us, “I’m not allowed to do it often, because I get in trouble for it. But I really like to do it.” Then he went and did some card tricks. Like a normal person.
