Judd Apatow’s This Is 40 is set to feature sounds from the likes of Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, and non-Paul artists including Ryan Adams, Norah Jones, Yoko Ono, Wilco, Jon Brion, and Fiona Apple. Fiona’s “Dull Tool” — written for the film and rendering her eligible for an Oscar — is here, and it sounds like it’d be right at home on The Idler Wheel…, where the similarly titled and similarly awesome “Hot Knife” resides. “You don’t kiss when you kiss, you don’t fuck when you fuck, you don’t say what you mean, you don’t talk loud enough,” Fiona sings over a feverish race of strings and percussion. If the song embed dies, try heading to Prefix.
