The ten-episode third season of Portlandia is set to premiere on Friday, January 4, at 10 p.m. with back-to-back episodes. The season will feature the return of Kyle MacLachlan's lovable mayor character, Chloë Sevigny as Fred and Carrie's new roommate, and hopefully Alec Baldwin as a meat salesman. Their first target, as seen in the clip below: meditation studio scheduling, naturally. If January is too far off to see a sketch mocking artisanal soda or whatever, don’t worry, IFC is airing a special episode on December 14 at 10:30 p.m. entitled "Winter in Portlandia." The special will feature Peter and Nance struggling with some winter weight gain (too many local chickens, probably), Candace's son visiting the feminist bookstore, and the bird-putter-on-ers' new hotel. Considering the show always shoots in the summer, this is the fan's first look at cold-weather Portland. Hope they like gray skies.
